A Name Writ In Water is the second full length from THE ONE AM RADIO, a project by Hrishikesh Hirway that falls somewhere between bedroom electronica and singer/songwriter. Hirway seamlessly blends minimal guitar lines, violins, subtle beats and ambient washes to underpin his wistful lyrics, melodies and dense vocal harmonies. The songs unfold like a memory being recalled, in hopes of not forgetting. Unlike previous releases, this record at times moves into more upbeat and almost dance-y territory, but even in those moments, there is a forlorn, dreamlike quality to the production and lyrics.
