pg99/City of Caterpillar - "A Split Personality" 7"

Level Plane Records [LP14] Out of Stock

I saw pg99 last summer in Maryland and was utterly blown away. Kids got naked, people beat the crap out of each other, chaos ensued. It was ridiculous. They've gotten that sort of reaction out of kids wherever I've seen them. They are hands down one of the most frightening live acts out there.

pg99 offers up 2 gems on this one. A more atmospheric piece that seriously creeps me out (in a good way) and a Filth cover. Sick.

When I first talked to Mike about doing this record he asked if it could be a split with some friends of his. I reluctantly said, "send me a tape" and a week later I got a demo from a band called City of Caterpillar. It wasn't bad. In fact it was really good. Scratch that, their demo was one of the best things I heard; demo, full release or otherwise. Brandon (who handles 1/2 the bass duties in pg99) plays guitar and sings in this band. They're a hardcore band through and through, but more. They're hypnotic, soothing, at times downright scathing and probably the only hardcore band that can make me feel like I was 15 again and still excited about everything. You should give yourself a quick kick to the face if you missed their summer tour.
