The seemingly calm Midwest is anything but quiet these days. Bloomington, Indiana's Racebannon and Minneapolis' Song of Zarathustra join forces and offer a chaotically charged 12" that challenges the ear, the mind and the soul. Racebannon continues to push the boundaries of form and structure with their four tracks collected here. Electronically altered soundscapes are interspersed amongst frantic bursts of more traditional song structures, featuring vocalist Mike Anderson's typically snotty delivery; enigmatic music illustrating an enigmatic age. Song of Zarathustra come correct with a little bit more of a straightforward approach, infusing their chaotic hardcore assault with more elements of rock, recalling a Blood Brothers free of posturing and inundated with guitar and keyboard attacks. Both bands have toured extensively both in the US and abroad and continue to live on the road, leaving both enlightenment and mystery in their wake.
